Green Tree Mill is a new green business
started by the same people who created Meyer Wells, a custom solid
wood furniture company located in Seattle, Washington. The
architectural design and building markets have been asking for
higher quality green wood and FSC Certified materials for a long
time. Green Tree Mill aspires to meet these needs and raise the
standards of wood building products and specifications.
John Wells, David Keinholz, and Seth Meyer started Green Tree Mill to offer these sustainable and green products alternative to larger commercial wood products manufacturers. As a sister company to Meyer Wells, Green Tree Mill works hard to differentiate itself from lumber liquidators and large manufacturers by providing locally sourced, FSC certified materials. We locate, process, and create special wood products that have superior character and quality compared to abundant commercial grades. We offer custom and specialized milling, wood drying, and moulding.
Green Tree Mill also provides woods to individual architects, designers, and builders that are distinctly different in their history and narrative. These stories set us apart from many larger mills and wood vendors. The trees we select, harvest, and reclaim often come with a unique story or legacy that we pass along to the project. Whether a customer selects ash from a settler's original farm, or fallen pine from a Seattle city street, or old growth cedar from a nineteenth century logging site, all of our products have character and history to share. As do our wood artisans.
Many of our materials have unique stories to tell, such as one particular batch of old growth cedar. Read More >>
